Kenny Bartram Muddin’ in the Subie
by: Bill Lockwood

Stillwater, OK is known for big mud seasons, and this year is no exception. Check out this note that Kenny sent us from the road. The last thing I'd heard from Kenny was his bicycle trip with Pastrana, Johnson, and Special Greg. Currently Kenny has a full schedule of FMX demos at Supercross races, but not enough to keep him from getting back home to good ol' Stillwater, Oklahoma - and mud season. Good thing he knows how to drive better than some Prius owners.

"The last rally I went to, and maybe my best race ever, was Rally of Nations Mexico last summer, but I just wanted to share a funny story about how great my Subaru is! I live out in the country in OK, it is 4 miles of dirt roads to get to my house. When it rains, there is one hill in particular that is very slippy and very crowned - in fact, I've been in the ditch twice while driving a 4x4 truck!

"Today on my way into town it was currently raining. I saw, off in the distance an F350 stuck in the ditch and two young adults looking at how they were going to get their truck out. I kept my momentum and just drove right on past them - no matter how much I like it, I wasn't going to pull out an F350 in a WRX.

"At the top of the hill, I stopped and peeked my head out the window, hollaring to see if they had help on the way. The look on their face was priceless, the dude in a Station Wagon, just made it up the hill that their 4x4 F350 didn t. I love my WRX!

"Turns out they had help on the way, and when I came back from town, they were gone. But I'll never forget the look on their faces!"

Love Your Mug - Canon 70-200mm Coffee Mug
by: Bill Lockwood

Canon gave away these sweet coffee mugs in the press room at the Vancouver Olympics. What a sweet tchotchke! Sometimes companies give away such whack shit in an effort to gain rank in our minds - this time it's a home run.

No, there wasn't rally car racing at the Olympics, but I went to a PBR party with an Olympic theme and I saw this mug on engadget, so it must be an Olympic year.

We all have loved DC's Gymkhana video series, Ken, DC and Mad Media have revolutionized the way we want to watch car videos. Today DC is proud to announce that Gymkhana TWO has won a One Show Entertainment Award in the Online Branded Entertainment category. DC ProSpec 2.0 Driving Shoe
by: Bill Lockwood

While over the past week, Mr. Block has been a bit more focused on getting the MWRT Ford Fiesta dialed in for its maiden gravel race at 100 Acre Wood this weekend, today he will also be breaking in a fresh new pair of DC Shoes Pro Spec 2.0s. Ones that just happen to match his Alpinestars suit and the Fiesta's livery.

The Pro Spec 2.0 is a new driving shoe from DC. "When creating the concept for this shoe, I wanted to make it something that was not only functional, but looked more like a skate shoe," says Ken Block. To achieve this, the Pro Spec 2.0 still offers a rolled heel to allow for proper pedal modulation, but has the appearance of a thick sole. But don't let it fool you, despite the profile of this shoe, the actual sole is still very flexible allowing great pedal feel, while still staying streamlined enough to prevent getting caught up when tap dancing across the three pedals.

While the Pro Spec 2.0 is not FIA homologated like the Pro Spec 1.0, but neither do you have to be. It is legal in most racing series, including Rally America. Plus, it's half the price, weighing in at an affordable $100.

The MWRT Livery edition Spec 2.0 will be available soon, but for those who can't wait, or would prefer to be slightly more subtle in good ol' black, check out the Pro Spec 2.0s now at the DC Store.
